Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) about NetBranch
- How do I sign up for NetBranch?
Go to your credit union branch and request a "NetBranch" sign up form. Complete the form and the credit union will mail you the pin number to access your account within three business days.
- Why do I have to wait for it to be mailed to me?
Due to security and the processes involved in issuing a password to access your account we mail passwords through the mail. The password will be sent to your address of record as maintained by our system.
- How do I change the names of my account to something I want to see?
When you log into NetBranch you will see a list of links on the far left. Under the "PROFILES" is a link to "Preferences" which will take you to a page where you can control various aspects of your NetBranch account. The reference to "Account Names" is where you go to modify the name of the accounts to something you better understand. For example the Savings account could be renamed to Colorado Ski Trip.
- What are the requirements for the password I want to use to access NetBranch?
NetBranch requires you to change your password the first time you log into the system. The password, which you use, has to conform to certain requirements. It has to be alphanumeric, meaning it has to have some alpha characters (a through z) and numeric (0-9). It also has to be no less than six characters long.
- How secure is my connection to NetBranch?
The connection between your computer and our NetBranch connection is secure. An encryption process called SSL (Secure Socket Layer) is used to secure your transmission of data between your PC and our NetBranch server.
- Why can't I connect to the NetBranch Login Page?
Because NetBranch uses 128-bit SSL there are some old browsers out there which do not support this higher level of security. Currently the browser has to be Internet Explorer 5.0 or greater, or NetScape 6.0 greater with SmartUpdate Plugin. This also applies to users of AOL as it uses the Explorer browser. If your browser does not meet these requirements go to the software manufacture Web site and download an upgrade
- Why can't I transfer money from my account to a co-workers account?
Due to security concerns the credit union does not currently allow transfers between members.
- Why does my password HAVE to be greater than six-characters and contain BOTH a numeric and alpha character?
This has to do with security. If we look at the various combinations which can be done using only numeric and six characters we have the total number of possibilities at 1,000,000 (000000 to 999999), whereas, with a combination of numeric and upper and lower case characters the possibilities expands to 37,029,625,920 possibilities (00000a to ZZZZZ9). This large number of possibilities makes it difficult for anyone to guess your password, or to use a computer system to try a "brute-force attack" (guessing all the possible password combinations).
- What are the e-mail addresses for specific employees?
We do not publish specific employee email addresses. If you wish to send an email to the credit union send it to support@usecuweb.com
- Why do I have to accept the Disclosure before I can use NetBranch?
The disclosure which you are required to accept before using NetBranch is the most current up to date disclosure we have. You will be required to accept this disclosure each time it changes. This disclosure covers the type of electronic transactions you may conduct when using our NetBranch product.
